Ashkelon Cart is still a yard business: packing paper on the bench, a truck that fits the street, and a desk that answers in the morning — not a slogan factory.
Origin
2005: one cart, one street, no call-centre script.
We started with a hand cart and a rented bay on HaNegev Street because southern flats were already teaching us the same lesson: the job is the landing, not the brochure. Lifts that do not take a sofa. Neighbours who share a stairwell. A Friday clock that does not negotiate.
The name stayed “Cart” on purpose. Vans came later. The habit did not: count the rooms, count the stairs, wrap the breakables in paper, and write the piano on the note before anyone sweats.
A good move is quiet in the stairwell and honest on the invoice. Everything else is packing tape.
The crew
Hands that have already met Barnea walk-ups.
We hire people who can pad a banister, close a carton square, and say when a piano needs a third pair of legs. Charm is optional. Care is not.
- Blankets on the rail before the first wardrobe leaves the flat.
- Lot labels that match the rooms you actually live in — not a generic “misc.”
- A yard manager who still walks jobs when the stair count looks ambitious.
- Hebrew and English at the desk; the truck speaks in tape and patience.

Method
We still think in lots, not in “stuff.”
Every room is a crate story: what is fragile, what is heavy, what will not survive a cheap bag on a hot truck. Packing paper is cheaper than replacing a grandmother’s platter. Stair blankets are cheaper than a complaint from the building committee.
Short-haul means we know the parking habits of Ashdod towers and the industrial edges of Kiryat Gat. We are not auditioning for a national network. We are trying to finish before the Friday cutoff without rushing the piano.
The street
Come to the bay if you want to see the paper, not a showroom.
The address is a working dock: tape, cartons, a kettle, and a truck that leaves early. Visitors are welcome in yard hours to collect boxes or to walk a quote. We do not keep a lounge. We keep a bench.
